Advanced Stage Combat
Ready to take your theatrical fighting skills to the next level? Join us this Spring for Advanced Stage
Combat, where young performers ages 12-18 will master the thrilling art of theatrical and complex
combat choreography. Building on the foundations from our first-level course, students will dive into
exciting new territory with sword techniques, advanced hand-to-hand combat, and dramatic stage falls.
Under expert guidance, participants will:
• Learn the dynamic techniques of word combat
• Perfect advanced unarmed combat sequences
• Master complex falling techniques safely and dramatically
• Create dynamic fight scenes that tell compelling stories

Superhero Stage: Where Every Kid Becomes Legendary!
Calling all young heroes and villains! Your origin story begins here! In this action-packed theater class,
mighty performers ages 6-9 will unleash their imagination to create their very own superhero universe
on stage. Whether you dream of soaring through the skies, battling dastardly villains, or protecting your
secret hideout, this class is your chance to bring your unique superhero or supervillain to life!
Young performers will:
- Design their own original superhero or supervillain character
- Create an epic backstory and superpowers
- Craft simple costume pieces to transform into their character
- Learn theatrical movement to show off their powers
- Work with fellow heroes and villains to create exciting stories
- Perform in a showcase of superhero adventures
No previous theater experience required – just bring your creativity and prepare for adventure! Each
mighty hero will receive their own & "Hero Training Manual"; to document their character's journey.

SPECTACULAR theatrical competition ever to hit the stage! That's right, folks – we're looking for daring
young performers ages 8-16 to compete in... THE THEATRE GAME OLYMPICS!

Each week, our fearless contestants will face off in OUTRAGEOUS challenges testing their wit, creativity,
and theatrical prowess! Who will survive the NOTORIOUS Freeze Tag Frenzy? Who will conquer the
TREACHEROUS Space Jump Challenge? Only the strongest performers will make it to... THE FINAL
SHOWDOWN!
FEATURING:
- INCREDIBLE improv challenges!
- ASTOUNDING character quick-changes!
- DEATH-DEFYING story battles!
- SHOCKING plot twists!
- And games so WILD we can't even announce them yet!
Points will be awarded by our panel of EXPERT JUDGES, leading up to the SEASON FINALE where ONE

Proud on Stage
A celebration of LGBTQ+ stories, poetry, and personal narratives. In this 8-week workshop, youth (ages
12+) develop their unique voices through creative writing and performance in a safe, affirming space.
Led by LGBTQ+ teaching artists, participants will craft and share their stories, building toward a final
showcase performance. Selected pieces will also be featured at OutFest during Lafayette Pride
celebrations.

Master Your Audition Destiny
Ready to land that dream role? Join us for this game-changing audition preparation workshop where
performers ages 8-18 will unlock the secrets of successful auditioning! As a special focus, participants
will prepare and polish their digital audition submissions for our upcoming summer production of
SEUSSICAL THE MUSICAL while mastering techniques for all future auditions!
In this essential workshop, performers will:
- Master the art of slate and first impressions
- Learn to break down sides and cold readings like a pro
- Create a professional self-tape audition for Seussical Digital Auditions
- Learn and perfect the required Seussical dance combinations
- Develop confidence with musical theater choreography
- Practice with real casting scenarios and mock auditions
- Receive personalized feedback and coaching
Small class size ensures individual attention. Students will be grouped by age and experience level for
appropriate material and coaching.

Living Legacy: Our City, Our Stories - Part II
Continue the powerful journey of bringing Lafayette's rich history to life through the art of documentary
theater! Following the success of our first Living Legacy project, student artists will dive deeper into our
community's untold stories as we prepare for Lafayette's historic bicentennial celebration.
In this advanced documentary theater workshop, participants will:
- Conduct new interviews with community members spanning generations
- Transform authentic stories into compelling theatrical scenes
- Develop advanced verbatim theater techniques
- Create original staging that honors our community's voices
- Be part of a historic theatrical celebration of Lafayette's 200 years
Join us in crafting a unique theatrical mosaic that weaves together the memories, dreams, and
experiences of our neighbors into an unforgettable performance. Your work will become part of our
town's historical record, creating a living time capsule for future generations.
Previous participation in Living Legacy recommended but not required. Open to dedicated performers
and storytellers who want to make history while telling it.
