MainStage Season-opening production

WHO: Actors +18 and fully vaccinated for COVID-19.

 

WHEN: Sunday, June 26th and Monday, June 27th from 6-8p. Please plan to stay for the entire session on the night you attend. Attendance only required for one night. 

 

WHERE: Historic Monon Depot Theater, 320 N. 5th St. Parking available in back lot and street. Please enter through lobby doors. 

 

WHAT: Each audition will consist of two parts. 1) 1-2 minute comedic monologue in character, emphasis on presenting an interesting “character” voice or persona and illustrating stage presence. No memorization required. 2) script work in groups of 3 – 4 actors to show interactive timing and flexible improvisation. See below for available roles. 

 

HOW: Email amelia@lafayettecivic.org to sign up for an audition DATE. Sign up encouraged but not required. Fill out an audition form and bring it with you to your audition or plan to arrive no more than 20 minutes early on the night of your audition to complete your audition form.

Cast

The Play That Goes Wrong is a play-within-a-play, comprised of actors in the Cornley Drama Society who are putting on the 1920s-era murder mystery, "The Murder at Haversham Manor." There are no lead roles. The cast is a troupe of 6 men and 2 women with 1 gender flexible possibility.


The players are:
Annie – the company stage manager who gets pressed into service when Sandra goes down
Trevor – company lighting and sound operator
Chris – head of the Drama Society, director of the play, plays Inspector Carter (gender flexible)
Jonathan – plays Charles Haversham, the deceased
Robert – plays Thomas Colleymoore, Charles’ old school friend
Dennis – plays Perkins, Charles’ butler
Max – plays Cecil Haversham, Charles’ brother, and Arthur the gardener
Sandra – plays Florence Colleymoore, Charles’ fiancée and Thomas’ sister
