WHO: Age 8-18

 

WHEN: Sunday, November 20th, 2022 and Monday, November 21st, 2022 from 5:30-8:30p. Attendance required for one night only.

5:30-6:30p Group 1 Vocal Auditions

6:30-7p - Group 1

7-8p - Group 2 Vocal Auditions

8-8:30p - Group 2

WHERE: Trinity United Methodist Church - 509 North St

WHAT: Auditionees will be asked to perform a verse and chorus from a song (songs can but do not have to be from Matilda). Appointments required for vocal audition. Auditionees will also read from the script in small groups and participate in a brief movement/dance audition.

 

HOW: Please register for an audition appointment below. Arrive no more than 20 minutes early to fill out an audition form, or bring your completed form with you.

An  audition workshop  with Director of Education and Outreach, Julie Baumann, will take place on November 6th, 2022 from 2-3:30p at Trinity United Methodist Church (same location as auditions).

Characters

Matilda: the hero of our story; brilliant, resilient, creative, and kind

Mr. & Mrs. Wormwood: Matilda’s parents; egotistical, selfish, not very bright, ridiculous

Michael: Matilda’s brother; lots of deadpan one-liners

Escapologist & Acrobat: imaginary characters that help Matilda tell her story, should be good actors and movers

Miss Honey: Matilda’s teacher; kind, generous, sweet, and strong

Trunchbull: headmistress at Matilda’s school; tyrannical and villainous

 

Ensemble

The Little Kids: Matilda’s classmates, all of whom have several speaking and singing solos (several named characters: Eric, Amanda, Lavender, Nigel, Bruce, Alice)

The Big Kids: Older kids at Matilda’s school, a few featured singing and speaking parts

The Grown Ups: mums and dads, Rudolpho the dance instructor, Mrs. Phelps the librarian, cook, mechanic, Sergei and the Russians
