This series has already started. Call 765-423-PLAY for more information.

Adults and teens (13 and up) interested in learning the art of writing a 10-minute play will have the opportunity to apply skills, techniques, and tips to writing their very own 10-minute play. Over the course of 5 sessions (meeting every other week), participants will learn, apply, and share their writing with a group of fellow writers in a workshop format. The end goal is to have a 10-minute original work ready for festival submission. This session will be taught by local playwright Erin Dietsche.

Erin Dietsche has a BA in English from the University of Iowa, where she was also accepted to the Creative Writing Track. Her plays have been read, workshopped, or produced at Civic Theatre, Horizon Theatre in Atlanta, and the University of Iowa. She also has experience teaching a variety of ages. Through the Iowa Youth Writing Project, she tutored 15 elementary school children in English and writing on a weekly basis. Additionally, she worked as a tutor in the University of Iowa Writing Center, where she advised 8 students per week on style, composition organization, and grammar. Erin currently works as a healthcare journalist.
