Julie (Doan) Baumann is a graduate of DePauw University, with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. She taught 2nd grade for 3 years in Medina, Washington while acting and teaching for Redmond Town Center’s Second Story Repertory. Upon returning to her hometown of Frankfort, Indiana, she kick started the Clinton County Youth Theatre program in the Frankfort Community Public Library for children ages 3-18. She produced and directed nearly 20 plays and musicals during the 8 years she worked there, while teaching various theatre arts workshops in the areas of improvisation, character development, storybook theatre, technical theatre, and stage makeup to name a few. She also developed literacy-based drama workshops for students in grades K-5, teaching those throughout two elementary schools. She most recently taught 2nd grade at Burnett Creek Elementary, in her Broadway-themed classroom. Julie enjoys music, theatre, blogging, teaching, reading, swimming, and most of all, being a mom. She is ecstatic to pursue her dream job with the Civic Theatre of Greater Lafayette.
