Civic holds classes and workshops on a variety of theatrical topics, including acting and character development, directing, light and sound design, and many more topics. Teen Troupe is a free program offered to teens in the Greater Lafayette area. The purpose is to build and develop a performance group that extends our Civic reach out into the community. The group is, for the most part, student-led to determine interests and goals. Improvisational theatre is usually the core of our time spent together, but there are opportunities to expand our repertoire and experiences! "From Page to Stage" will take student-selected texts and turn them into scenes for the stage! Students will study character, motivation, and scene work through this interactive transition from words on a page of their favorite book to a live performance on their final day of class. Please send your child with a copy of their favorite book/story/text that the instructor can keep on the first day of class.
