Students will learn the "rules" of improvisation and test them out through multiple games and activities that stretch their creativity and imagination.

Participants will explore the concept of lighting design by looking at lighting effects and the moods they can create. They will act out various scenes within their custom lighting designs to portray the moods and characters their light looks inspire. Behind the Scenes: All Things Tech! for ages 11 and up

Students will explore a different aspect of technical theatre each week of class, including: Directing, Set Design, Lighting Design, Sound Design, Costume Design and Stage Management.

Spring Break Camp: Living Graphic Novel

Campers ages 8-12 will create and design their very own graphic novel storyline and graphics layout with guest artist, Craig Martin. They will apply elements of story structure while developing a unique story, all while designing and shooting the images that will go into their “living graphic novel.” Students will receive a copy of the completed project, and will present a short account of their contributions and discoveries throughout the week on Friday, March 29th at 5:00 pm for family and friends.

Summer Camp: Designing a Character

Campers ages 8-12 will engage in designing a character, including makeup, costume, and movement through an intensive character study course. Each camper will create their own design for their character after gaining experience working with stage makeup, elements of costume design, and concepts of character movement. Campers will justify their design choices and demonstrate their character in a short monologue or scene as a final performance on Friday, June 7th at 12:00 pm, followed by a pitch-in reception in the Civic Theatre Lobby.

Curtains Up Camp: Disney's Peter Pan, Jr.

This camp is for ages 10-18. Days will consist of classes in voice, movement, acting, and rehearsing "Disney’s Peter Pan, Jr." All camp participants will be cast in the show. The performance will be a full-scale production with lights, sound, and costumes! After the last performance, all cast and crew members will strike the set. Strike will be followed by a farewell party. Show Dates: July 26th at 7:30 pm, July 27th at 2:30 & 7:30 pm, July 28th at 2:30 pm at Civic Theatre.
