Amazing Maurice and His Educated Rodents
AUDITIONS
WHO: Actors ages 8 - 18 years old
WHEN: October 27 & 28 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm. Attendance is required for one night only.

WHERE: Trinity United Methodist Church

WHAT: Auditions will include reading sides from the script, see below.
HOW: Arrive no more than 20 minutes early to fill out an audition form, or bring your completed form with you.
Available Roles
Maurice (male, cat) – an ex-alley cat and self-appointed mastermind of scheming. He is whip-smart and manipulative, but deep down cares a lot about the rats and Keith.
Dangerous Beans (male, rat) – a little albino rat who is nearly blind but more than makes up for it with his wisdom. He thinks more than most.
Peaches (female, rat) – a young rat and the usual companion of Dangerous
Beans. She is the caretaker of their favorite book, ‘Mr Bunnsy Has An Adventure’. She will read this book out loud throughout the play.
Darktan (male, rat) – a natural leader in charge of the Trap Disposal Squad.
He is very strong, smart, and brave.
Keith (male, human) – a “stupid-looking” kid, in Maurice’s words, and the musician of the group. He is usually quiet, but observant and kind.
Malicia (female, human) – the mayor’s daughter. She always has her head stuck in a story and can talk for hours without stopping.
Hamnpork (male, rat) – the head rat of “the clan.” He’s old, for rat standards, and usually very grouchy. (Actor may double as a human in Act 2)
Sardines (male, rat) – a tap-dancing rat who is very good at getting out of tight spots.
Nourishing (female, rat) – a young rat learning the ways of trap disposal.
Ron (male, human) – one of the rat catchers. Nasty and mean.
Bill (male, human) – one of the rat catchers. Nasty and mean.
RAT ENSEMBLE – 4-6 rats. All ensemble rats will have speaking roles.
HUMAN ENSEMBLE – 3-4 humans. All ensemble humans will have speaking roles. Human ensemble members may also be rats in Act 1.
